Physician Portal

The Physician Portal allows an individual's physician to access his/her health information, fostering greater patient-physician collaboration. The physician may view clinical diagnostics and prescriptions written by other physicians as well as other PHI, including the content of messages and alerts provided.

Access by the consumer's physician to the individual's information must be authorized for that specific physician by the consumer in his/her secure settings, and then only for the categories specified.  Consumers can give the physician access to the Personal Health Record, Health Status and Health Promotion; Health Finance is not available to the physician. The consumer may withdraw approval for on-line access at any point.

The Physician Portal can be important when an individual wants a deeper level of collaboration with the physician, or when the physician wants a fuller picture of the patient's overall health and management.
